CAFETERIA CREW: This week Addie's Advisory. (ORDER >> Mike, Molly, Tara, Tim, Addie, Beckah, Becky, Dan, Erica, Heather) Monday Extended Gathering This is the first in a run of weeks where will be able to fulfill our ritualized weeks in Advisory. Monday's gathering should involve every member of the Advisory, circled up, and learning new things about one another, celebrating successes or creative ideas, and/or connecting on a deeper level than you have in the past. Take time to reflect on the effectiveness of the gathering when it ends: How did you feel? What went well? How could this particular gathering be better for our group next time? Tuesday Academic Advisement Option to use your ritual for today, or to take the opportunity to focus in on Project Block progress. What are the successes and challenges? What does the calendar look like in terms of your project and its progress toward completion? Recall your goals and challenges from last semester. STUDENTS IN GRADE 9 will have an introduction to ASPIRE during Project Block on Tuesday. Wednesday Town Hall & GWT Use GWT ritual to engage in guided work time. Discuss the parts and purposes of GWT, if you have not done so for a while, to make sure that there is task identification, progress, and accountability. NOTE: There will be an intern-interest meeting at the end of Town Hall, an opportunity for students to learn more about Étude Studios. We are looking for those students interested in applying to become interns next year, but training this spring. Thursday Futures Chromebooks: As a Do Now, Advisees should begin completing this personality type quiz. As a preface....the quiz is just a quiz and a snapshot of your personality based on the questions you answered, it does not prescribe or predict your future opportunities. After taking the quiz, there will be an individual summary and a link at the bottom to read more about it. Clicking on that will provide more insight on your "type" and suggest different types of professions and programs that match. After taking time to review, reflect as an advisory by mapping the different types within your group or discussing the extent to which the "type" matches current plans. STUDENTS IN GRADE 10 have already done this in preparation for their LTC trip last month. During this time, they can choose to participate in the survey again, or spend time practicing ASPIRE test questions here. They should remember their type and be able to participate in the discussion NOTE: There is an American Studies extended school day after school today. Advisors should check in with students enrolled in that class to make a plan. Friday Ritual Announcements
CAFETERIA CREW: This week Tim's Advisory. (ORDER >> Mike, Molly, Tara, Tim, Addie, Beckah, Becky, Dan, Erica, Heather) Monday No School Tuesday No Advisory (Indie Lens Schedule) Wednesday Town Hall and Guided Work Time Town Hall will be brief, allowing time for Advisory groups to do an extended gathering that would typically take place on Monday. Choose a gathering that focuses forward (not back) and encourages advisees to learn something new about one another. Use Guided Work Time to once again check in on routines, goals, and studio time with accountability. Thursday Academic Advisement (usually on Tuesday) Take in your data. What have been your successes this trimester, why? What have been your challenges, why? Bring these to the surface as you set SMART goals to track in the next few weeks. Friday Ritual NOTE: Grades 9 & 10 will be periodically pulled from Project Block for orientation and practice of ASPIRE tests which will begin on April 23rd. |
