Do Now | Share your sketching (5)Share your sketches with someone in the room. Find someone that you haven't talked with about on designs. Do Next | Share out design concepts, find any potential partners (10)Mini Lesson | Sketching to scale (12)Drawing using a 1/8" inch = 1 foot scale. Try using the Velum rolls. Studio Time | Write your goal in your notebook (25)Work with your designs from your notebook to transfer them to scaled drawings. (Poster boards to come tomorrow). Ticket Out | What are your accomplishments for today? (5)Outcomes
Do Now | Quick Jot (5)Write your responses in your engineering notebook.
Model of Sketching & Methods | Draw like an Architect (20)
Studio Time | Print out Photos & Annotations (15) Set a studio time goal about annotating your sketches and photos. Pick what you want printed out from our folder of photos. (We can print them in color). Circle up | Share out (10)Share out information from your annotations, sketches, and any other evidence you have. We will take 2 volunteers or cold call them. Ticket out | Reflection on Studio time and Share out moment (7)Outcomes
Do Now | Revise and setup your notebook (10)In your engineering notebook, make sure that you have dated all of your drawings and work from Friday. Also, have someone near you sign that work on each page of drawing and writing. If you have not had time to annotate the sketches, please do so. Also, prepare your notebook for sketching today. Do Next | Building in Environments (10)Review first Home Learning and set deadline. Outcomes
Do Now | Turn & Talk (5)Share your most important expectation from yesterday with someone around. Also, share anything you think should be added to the Expectations for Étude Engineers. Do Next | Looking over expectation (15)Go over expectations together and take notes on anything that needs to be added. Observations | Looking over the River (30)Walk down to the river to observe spots on the river. Sketch the spot or even take photos of a spot on the edge of the river. Where would you design an outdoor classroom?
Outcomes
Do Now | Quick Jot Response (5)Write a quick response to the prompt below and we will share out a few responses through a cold call.
NOTE FOR TODAY: Use a post it note for today's response. In the future, your engineering notebook will be setup for these responses. Mini Lesson 1 | Setting up your Engineering Notebook (7)
Studio Time Mini | Setting up your Engineering Notebooks (5)Take this time to setup your table of contents along with putting your post-it note in the correct space of your notebook. Mini Lesson 2 | Expectations Jig-Saw (15)Everyone will be given a section of the Expectations document to review. Analyze your section with a Keep | Change | Add Protocol. Presentation | Expectations of Étude Engineers (15)Share out your sections with its purpose and Ticket Out | As you come back tomorrow... (3)As we return tomorrow, think about a few points of addition to the expectations. Write down at least on expectation that we did not include

Course DescriptionFoundations of Architectural Design is a course geared for students interested in design concepts and elements of architecture. Students spend first semester exploring architectural forms and developing ways of communicating design concepts and ideas. We develop concept boards that communicate sketching, floor planning, concept models, and site plans for multiple projects and assessments. Students transition to Computer Aided Design in the second semester, learning to develop CAD models for concepts using Revit. Students develop a home design following standards for Habitat for Humanity Lakeside. After developing concepts and CAD Models, students communicate their concepts to Habitat for Humanity Lakeside as a pitch for building their concept. Archives
